Mt. Adams has shared a rich and fascinating history with the City of Cincinnati for over 200 years. Named after President John Quincy Adams, the Hill has long enjoyed a tradition of fine wine, art and entertainment. Nicholas Longworth, who owned all of Mt. Adams during the early 1800’s, made a famous champagne from locally cultivated grapes. His granddaughter, Maria Longworth Stroer later became well-known for the ceramic finishes and tints she named Rookwood Pottery crafted in her Mt. Adams pottery factory. Dating to the nineteenth century, Mt. Adams has been the venue of choice for concerts, theater and fine dining.
